Books of account, etc., to be kept by company
๐ Law Minded summary
Every company keeps proper books of account at its registered office, showing all money received and spent, all sales and purchases, its assets and liabilities.
They can be kept electronically, and at another place in India if the Registrar is told. Books must be preserved for at least eight financial years.
Directors can inspect them. Keeping them badly is not a paperwork slip: officers in default face a fine, and books are the foundation everything else in this Chapter rests on.
